RAKU

Raku is an exciting ceramics firing technique because the artist is so involved in the firing process. You can appreciate glowing-hot pots, smoke, flame, and nearly immediate results.

​

The results are also very unique from other firing processes. Many people are attracted to Raku because of the bright metallic colors you can get from firing copper glazes. Because Raku is a low fire technique, the resulting pots are more fragile, but they are all unique and very interesting to look at.

hese pieces are NOT safe for food or drink.  They should NOT be used to hold water – such as using for live flowers. The finish and patina achieved with these pieces is delicate.
